About The Wentzel Brothers Band
PRESS RELEASE BY WKOM Radio 101.7 FM
THE WENTZEL BROTHERS BAND’S NEW ALBUM IS A SOUTHERN ROCK MASTERPIECE
Southern Rock group, The Wentzel Brothers Band, release their highly anticipated second studio album
on March 3, 2018 at CITIES in Columbia!
Formed in 2016, the group consists of drummer Ivan Wentzel, bass guitarist Jacob Newcomb, guitarist Joshua Terry, as well as frontman and lead singer, Issac Wentzel. Hailing from Chapel Hill, Tennessee, the band have a reputation for bringing a unique twist to the otherwise familiar sound of Southern Rock.
Influenced by artists such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Eric Clapton, and incorporating classic 60s sounds with Southern Rock, the group are known for their varied and diverse style of songs, with ‘In the Shadow of the Mountain’ drawing on most of the band’s significant influences including Southern Rock, Rock and Roll, Blues, and Folk.
The band’s drummer, Ivan, wrote the album’s title track while driving in Isaac’s 93 Ford Pickup on the way to the Sonic Drive-In for ice cream. With just a notebook, guitar, and some shades, Isaac played the riff over and over, stopping periodically to scribble down the lyrics as they came to Ivan. The song, a southern rock anthem with a driving bass line that is sure to get anybody on their feet, was finished before Ivan could finish his Strawberry Slush.
The album showcases the band’s ability to play classic rock, but with their own twist. The record’s second track, ‘Do It Again’ is a fast and loud jam that is presented in true Southern Rock fashion, while the fifth track, ‘Wrong Places’ is a powerful ballad that showcases the softer side of the band. A secret track on the album titled ‘Bullfrog’ is the first all acoustic song that the group have released, which clearly displays their musical skills and talents.
The 11-track album was recorded in Sound Revival Studios in Columbia, Tennessee, and was produced by Ivan Wentzel & John Reece, mixed and mastered by Matthew Constanzo
With a certain musical chemistry, and a gift for song writing that resonates with the masses, The Wentzel Brothers Band are a force to be reckoned with.
